Hi, I'm Francine Belle

I'm a singer/songwriter/producer and, more recently, an AI artist/prompt engineer.

I created Cosmic Coco because I have always loved glamorous fantasy fiction and artwork, but growing up as a nerdy kid in London, I never got to see lush, stylised, colourful, mythical and whimsical images featuring people who look like me.

Sure, I was able to occasionally imagine what the Black characters in the YA fantasy fiction I consumed looked like, but their likeness was never on the cover, seeing as they were often the plucky sidekick to the magical main characters. While mainstream literature is thankfully catching up, fantasy artwork doesn't feature Black characters in stylised settings as often as I'd like. This is why I'm thankful for AI tools. I developed a passion for Midjourney based on the thrill of seeing my imagined images come to life.

As an artist myself, I am sensitive to the abuses that can take place when traditional art styles are copied for AI prompting. For this reason, I try to ground my AI images in the hyper real but also incorporate enough surreal elements to make something that hopefully has never been seen before. I do hope you'll enjoy what me and my AI companion MJ have created!
